Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
  • Accurately input prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
  • Process patient prescriptions, including counting, pouring, measuring, and labeling.
  • Handle patient inquiries in person and over the phone, providing excellent customer service.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workstation.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Assist with immunization clinics and other health services as needed.
  • Process insurance claims and resolve billing issues.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Texas Pharmacy Technician registration.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy software systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Walgreens pharmacy systems (e.g., RxConnect).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly desirable.
  • Experience with sterile compounding or IV admixture.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in a related field.
