Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
- Accurately input prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Process patient prescriptions, including counting, pouring, measuring, and labeling.
- Handle patient inquiries in person and over the phone, providing excellent customer service.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy workstation.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Assist with immunization clinics and other health services as needed.
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing issues.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current Texas Pharmacy Technician registration.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Walgreens pharmacy systems (e.g., RxConnect).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly desirable.
- Experience with sterile compounding or IV admixture.
- Associate’s degree or higher in a related field.
