Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Podiatry Assistant to join our thriving podiatry practice in Mesa, Arizona. The Podiatry Assistant will play a vital role in supporting our podiatrists and ensuring smooth patient flow, exceptional patient care, and efficient office operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination rooms and sterilize instruments according to established protocols.
  • Assist podiatrists during examinations, minor surgical procedures, and treatment applications.
  • Provide patients with pre- and post-procedure instructions as directed by the podiatrist.
  • Take and develop X-rays of feet and ankles (training provided if needed).
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history, vitals, and treatment details.
  • Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and confirm insurance information.
  • Clean and dress wounds, apply bandages, and remove sutures as instructed.
  • Order and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Educate patients on foot health, hygiene, and proper footwear.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as answering phones and processing patient payments.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn EMR systems
  • Compassionate and patient-focused demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., medical office, clinic, hospital)
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, particularly related to podiatry
