Job Description
As a Pinterest Systems Architect specializing in Enterprise IT at IBM, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex, scalable enterprise-level systems inspired by the architectural paradigms of high-traffic, content-rich platforms like Pinterest. You will lead the technical vision for robust, secure, and performant solutions, leveraging your deep expertise in cloud technologies, microservices, and data-driven architectures. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design and implementation of enterprise-scale systems, focusing on high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Define technical standards, best practices, and architectural principles for large-scale content and data management platforms.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance system capabilities and efficiency.
- Ensure system security, compliance, and data privacy by design, adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in system architecture, with a focus on enterprise-level platforms.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing highly scalable, distributed systems akin to consumer-facing platforms.
- Deep understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or IBM Cloud) and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong proficiency in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven design patterns.
- Extensive experience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), data warehousing, and big data processing frameworks.
- Solid grasp of network architecture, security protocols, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, TOGAF).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
