Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Philanthropy Aide to join our team in Glendale, CA. In this vital Charity Liaison Role, you will serve as a key point of contact for donors, volunteers, and community partners, facilitating seamless communication and supporting our philanthropic initiatives. This position requires an individual with exceptional organizational skills, a compassionate demeanor, and a commitment to our mission. You will play a crucial role in managing donor relations, coordinating charitable events, and ensuring the smooth operation of our community outreach programs, directly contributing to our impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between donors, volunteers, and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and follow-up.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events, campaigns, and community engagement activities.
- Manage and maintain donor databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.
- Prepare and disseminate correspondence, reports, presentations, and other materials related to philanthropic efforts.
- Coordinate schedules, meetings, and travel arrangements for philanthropy team members and external partners.
- Process donations, prepare acknowledgment letters, and assist with grant application documentation.
- Conduct research on potential donors, corporate sponsors, and community needs to support strategic planning.
- Support the development and implementation of donor stewardship and recognition programs.
- Provide administrative support to the philanthropy department, including filing, data entry, and office organization.
- Represent Goodwill Industries International at community events and networking opportunities as needed.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated empathy, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of non-profit operations and fundraising principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Non-profit Management, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Experience with donor management software (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge).
- Prior experience in a non-profit, fundraising, or community relations role.
- Familiarity with the Glendale, CA community and local philanthropic landscape.
