Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting entry-level opportunity in the healthcare field with no prior experience required? CVS Health is offering a comprehensive paid training program to become a Pharmacy Technician Trainee! This is a fantastic chance to launch your career in a supportive environment, learning essential skills directly from experienced professionals. As a Trainee, you will learn the ins and outs of pharmacy operations, customer service, and medication management, all while making a real difference in people’s lives. Upon successful completion of the training, you will be prepared for certification and a full-time Pharmacy Technician role.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in and complete all assigned training modules and hands-on learning experiences.
- Learn to accurately fill prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Develop excellent customer service skills, assisting patients with their prescription needs and answering basic inquiries.
- Master inventory management, including stocking shelves, organizing medications, and processing returns.
- Understand and adhere to all federal, state, and company regulations regarding pharmacy practice and patient privacy (HIPAA).
- Operate pharmacy computer systems and cash registers with accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and other pharmacy staff to ensure efficient operations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Required Skills
- No prior experience in pharmacy is required – we provide comprehensive paid training!
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procedures.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Reliable and punctual.
- A genuine desire to help people and contribute to their health and well-being.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience in any field.
- Familiarity with medical terminology (a plus, but not required).
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus.
