Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport patients via wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds to and from various hospital departments (e.g., patient rooms, examination areas, operating rooms, therapy units).
  • Assist patients with getting into and out of transportation devices, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Verify patient identification and transport requests to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and hospital staff to provide updates and manage expectations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of transport equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damage promptly.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control, safety guidelines, and patient confidentiality (HIPAA/GDPR equivalent).
  • Respond promptly to transport requests, prioritizing emergent and urgent patient needs.
  • Provide a friendly and reassuring presence for patients during transport.
  • Assist with other general duties as assigned by supervisors to support hospital operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a customer service role
  • Basic First Aid or CPR certification (training will be provided if not held)
