Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative E-Learning Specialist / Technologist to join our dynamic Learning & Development team in Barrow-in-Furness. This pivotal role involves the design, development, and implementation of engaging and effective e-learning solutions that support our complex defence projects. You will be instrumental in transforming traditional training materials into interactive digital experiences, ensuring our workforce is equipped with the knowledge and skills required for mission-critical tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop engaging, interactive, and effective e-learning modules and courses using various authoring tools.
- Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and accessible learning content.
- Administer and manage our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring smooth operation and optimal user experience.
- Implement instructional design methodologies, including needs analysis, content structuring, and assessment design.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of e-learning programs through data analysis and feedback, continuously seeking improvements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and content creators on e-learning platforms and tools.
- Stay current with emerging e-learning technologies, instructional design trends, and best practices.
- Ensure all e-learning content adheres to industry standards (e.g., SCORM, xAPI) and company brand guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in instructional design and e-learning development.
- Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration and content deployment.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional theories.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with multimedia development principles for e-learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Experience working within a large engineering, manufacturing, or defence environment.
- Certification in instructional design, e-learning technologies, or project management.
- Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) for creating visual assets.
- A portfolio showcasing previous e-learning projects and instructional design work.
