Job Description
We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Pastry Chef / Chocolatier to join our prestigious culinary team at The Lowry Hotel. This is an incredible opportunity for a talented individual to showcase their artistry in a renowned five-star environment. You will be responsible for designing, preparing, and presenting a wide array of exquisite pastries, desserts, and handcrafted chocolates for our various outlets, including our restaurant, banqueting, and afternoon tea services. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute innovative and visually stunning pastry and chocolate creations that align with the hotel's luxury brand and culinary standards.
- Oversee the daily operations of the pastry section, ensuring all production meets the highest standards of quality, consistency, and hygiene.
- Manage inventory, control costs, and minimize waste while ensuring the availability of all necessary ingredients and supplies.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior pastry staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other kitchen departments to ensure seamless service and menu integration.
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- Contribute to menu development for various hotel offerings, including special events and seasonal promotions.
- Ensure all creations are prepared to the highest standard, paying meticulous attention to detail in taste, texture, and presentation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Chocolatier in a high-end hotel or restaurant environment.
- Exceptional creativity and artistic flair in pastry and chocolate making.
- Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary pastry techniques, including sugar work, tempering, and various baking methods.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Passion for culinary excellence and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- A culinary degree or equivalent professional qualification in Pastry Arts or Chocolatierie.
- Experience working in a 5-star luxury hotel setting.
