Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-time Special Needs Helper to support students during weekend term time. This role is crucial in providing one-on-one or small group assistance, ensuring students with diverse needs receive the attention and tailored support required for their development and well-being in a structured and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to students with special needs, assisting with academic, social, and daily living skills.
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the guidance of lead educators.
- Facilitate communication and social interaction among students.
- Assist with personal care needs as required, maintaining dignity and respect.
- Monitor student progress and report observations to supervising staff.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and therapists to create a cohesive support system.
- Participate in training and professional development as required.
Required Skills

- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of child development and special needs.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors constructively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with individuals with special needs.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or a related field is a plus.
- Knowledge of various learning disabilities and behavioral disorders.
