Job Description

Are you ready to kickstart a rewarding career in logistics and safety? UPS is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our Forklift Instructor Trainee Program in Charlotte, NC. This entry-level position is designed to develop you into a certified Forklift Instructor, responsible for training new and existing employees on safe and efficient forklift operation. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in a structured training program to become a certified Forklift Instructor.
  • Learn and master UPS's forklift operational procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Shadow experienced instructors to observe effective teaching methodologies and practical demonstrations.
  • Assist in preparing training materials and conducting training sessions for new and current employees.
  • Evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback to ensure competency.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with all company and regulatory standards.
  • Continuously update knowledge of industry best practices and safety regulations related to material handling.
  • Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence within the workplace.
  • Operate various types of forklifts and material handling equipment as part of the training and instruction process.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong interest in safety, training, and logistics operations.
  • Ability to learn and apply complex operational and safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform other tasks associated with material handling and instruction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Basic understanding of heavy equipment operation or mechanics.
  • Prior experience in a teaching or training capacity (e.g., coaching, mentoring).
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
