Job Description
Are you a night owl looking for a dynamic and rewarding role? FedEx Ground in Oxnard, CA is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team as an Overnight Freight Sorter. This full-time position operates from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, offering premium pay for your dedication during these critical hours. In this fast-paced environment, you will be crucial to ensuring the efficient flow of packages through our facility, playing a vital role in our commitment to timely delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort, scan, load, and unload packages and freight from trailers and containers.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring they are placed in the correct outbound bins or vehicles.
- Operate package handling equipment safely and effectively (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, twisting, and reaching for extended periods.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 75 lbs (with assistance for heavier items).
- Demonstrated physical stamina and endurance for repetitive tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for the overnight shift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, warehouse environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or freight handling role.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with scanning technology or inventory systems.
