Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Textile Technologist to join our innovative product development team in Charlotte, NC. This role is open to international candidates eager to contribute to cutting-edge textile innovation. The Textile Technologist will be responsible for the research, development, and testing of new textile materials and processes, ensuring they meet our high standards for performance, quality, and sustainability. You will collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to bring innovative products to market. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development on new textile fibers, yarns, fabrics, and finishes.
- Evaluate material properties, performance, and durability through various testing methods.
- Collaborate with designers and product developers to select appropriate materials for new products.
- Develop and optimize textile manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency and quality.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to textile materials and production.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and sustainable practices in textiles.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations on material testing and development projects.
- Ensure compliance with international standards and regulations for textile safety and quality.
- Support supplier qualification and technical audits for textile vendors.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Science, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in textile research and development, quality control, or product engineering.
- Strong understanding of textile properties, manufacturing processes (weaving, knitting, dyeing, finishing), and testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in using textile testing equipment and interpreting results.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical reporting and stakeholder interaction.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., AATCC, ASTM, ISO) for textile testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant textile discipline.
- Experience with sustainable textile materials and processes (e.g., recycled fibers, natural dyes).
- Knowledge of apparel construction and performance textile applications.
- Experience working with global supply chains.
- Project management experience in a textile product development setting.
