Job Description

We are seeking a highly meticulous and eagle-eyed Online Proofreader (Junior) to join our dynamic content team. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with an exceptional eye for detail, a strong grasp of grammar and punctuation, and a passion for ensuring the highest quality in digital content. You will play a crucial role in reviewing a variety of online materials, including educational texts, marketing copy, website content, and multimedia scripts, to identify and correct errors before publication. Key Responsibilities

  • Proofread a wide range of digital content, including web pages, e-books, articles, marketing materials, and video captions, for grammatical errors, punctuation, spelling, syntax, and formatting inconsistencies.
  • Ensure all content adheres to established style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, APA, internal style guides) and brand voice guidelines.
  • Verify factual accuracy, consistency in terminology, and proper use of references where applicable.
  • Collaborate with content creators, editors, and project managers to clarify queries and implement corrections efficiently.
  • Manage multiple proofreading tasks simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain meticulous records of edits and feedback.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of proofreading processes and style guides.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for errors.
  • Strong command of English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax (US English).
  • Familiarity with various style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style, APA).
  • Proficiency in using digital proofreading tools and annotation software.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in proofreading or editing, even if academic or volunteer-based.
  • Familiarity with educational content or digital learning platforms.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS).
