Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Early Bird Receiver to join our team in Oxnard, CA. This crucial role requires an individual who thrives in an early morning environment, starting at 4:00 AM, to ensure that all incoming merchandise is accurately received, documented, and prepared for the sales floor. The Early Bird Receiver is responsible for verifying shipments against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and organizing inventory in the receiving area. This position demands attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently while adhering to strict deadlines. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect all incoming merchandise and shipments, starting at 4:00 AM.
- Verify product quantities against purchase orders and packing slips, noting any discrepancies.
- Identify and report any damaged or defective goods immediately.
- Organize and stage received merchandise in designated areas, ensuring proper storage and accessibility.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock and storage area.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth flow of goods to the sales floor.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to consistently start work at 4:00 AM.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Basic math and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Reliable transportation to ensure timely arrival for early shifts.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory role.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
