Job Description

Join Best Buy’s dynamic team as a Hardware Support Tech with a dedicated focus on in-home repair services, supporting our partnership with Concentrix’s service delivery. In this role, you will be the face of our technical expertise, traveling to customer homes in the Cleveland area to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of hardware issues. Your mission will be to provide exceptional technical support and customer service, ensuring seamless operation of our customers’ technology. This position requires strong technical acumen, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer residences to perform on-site diagnosis and repair of various hardware, including computers, laptops, printers, home networking devices, and smart home technology.
  • Provide expert technical support and clear explanations to customers regarding their hardware issues and solutions.
  • Install, configure, and set up new hardware and peripheral devices as required.
  • Perform software troubleshooting and basic network connectivity diagnostics.
  • Manage a schedule of service appointments efficiently and independently.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs performed, and parts used.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while working in customer homes.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in hardware troubleshooting and repair (PCs, laptops, peripherals)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts and home Wi-Fi setup
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various home environments
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent technical certifications
  • Previous experience in a field service or in-home repair role
  • Experience with a variety of operating systems (Windows, macOS)
  • Associate's degree in a technical field
