Job Description
Are you passionate about helping students master Math and English concepts? Do you enjoy explaining complex ideas in an understandable way? Chegg is looking for dedicated Online Math / English Tutors to join our remote team. As an Online Tutor, you will connect with students via video chat, providing one-on-one support, answering questions, and guiding them through their coursework. Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear, concise, and accurate explanations in Math (e.g., Algebra, Calculus, Geometry) and/or English (e.g., Grammar, Writing, Literature) through live video sessions.
- Engage students in an interactive and supportive learning environment.
- Answer student questions and guide them through problem-solving processes.
- Help students understand homework, prepare for tests, and improve their overall comprehension.
- Maintain professionalism and punctuality for all scheduled tutoring sessions.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit individual student learning styles and needs.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to foster student growth.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Math (up to Calculus) and/or English (grammar, writing, literature).
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet space for tutoring.
- Comfortable using video conferencing tools for instruction.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or possess a Bachelor's degree in a Math or English-related field.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience (formal or informal).
- Experience with online learning platforms.
- Ability to tutor in multiple subjects within Math and/or English.
