Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Oil Rig Deck Swabber to join our offshore team. This physically demanding role involves maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the oil rig’s deck in extreme marine environments. The successful candidate will perform various cleaning, maintenance, and support tasks crucial to daily operations. This is an entry-level position that requires a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to thrive in challenging conditions away from home for extended periods. While the primary work environment is offshore, this position is managed and recruited from our Jonesboro, Arkansas office, serving as a vital link in our global operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain rig deck, ensuring it is free of oil, grease, debris, and other hazards.
  • Operate high-pressure washing equipment and other cleaning tools safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with the handling of drilling pipes, tools, and equipment as directed.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including painting, chipping, and lubrication.
  • Support crane operations by hooking and unhooking loads.
  • Participate in safety drills and emergency response procedures.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and environmental regulations.
  • Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or incidents to supervisors immediately.
  • Work collaboratively with the rig crew to ensure smooth and safe operations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to safety protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-pressure environment.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and cleaning equipment.
  • Excellent observational skills to identify potential hazards.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in an offshore setting.
  • Valid TWIC card or ability to obtain one prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a physically demanding role, industrial cleaning, or maritime environment.
  • Offshore survival certification (e.g., HUET, BOSIET).
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
