Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to be part of the vibrant world of live events? Oak View Group is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Event Stewards/Ushers for weekend events in Sarnia. This is an ideal role for someone who loves interacting with people, enjoys a dynamic work environment, and is available to work evenings and weekends. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training to ensure your success. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all event attendees.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist guests with a positive and helpful attitude upon their arrival.
- Verify tickets or passes, ensuring all attendees have proper authorization for entry.
- Provide clear and concise directions to seating areas, restrooms, concessions, and other venue facilities.
- Monitor assigned sections for any safety hazards, guest issues, or disturbances.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
- Assist with crowd control and maintain orderly conduct within designated areas.
- Enforce venue policies and procedures consistently and courteously.
- Support emergency evacuation procedures and assist guests during unforeseen circumstances.
- Collaborate effectively with other event staff, security, and management to ensure smooth event operations.
- Perform pre-event checks of the venue to ensure cleanliness and readiness.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Availability to work weekend shifts (evenings and/or daytime) as per event schedules.
- Ability to learn and adapt to various event specific requirements and venue layouts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience in any capacity.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and safety procedures (training will be provided).
- Ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations.
- Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
