Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Norfolk Field Hand to join our agricultural team based near St Albans, Hertfordshire. This is an ongoing, full-time position offering stable employment within a dynamic agricultural hub. As a Field Hand, you will be instrumental in supporting various crop production activities, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our farming practices. The role requires physical fitness, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and adapt to seasonal demands. You will work outdoors in various weather conditions, contributing directly to the success of our harvests and the quality of our produce.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general farm duties including planting, cultivating, harvesting, and packaging of crops.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., tractors, forklifts, irrigation systems) after appropriate training.
- Assist with the preparation of fields, including soil analysis, fertilisation, and pest control measures.
- Monitor crop health, identifying issues such as pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies and reporting them to supervisors.
- Contribute to the upkeep of farm buildings, fences, and general site cleanliness.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Participate in manual labour tasks such as weeding, pruning, and loading/unloading produce.
- Work collaboratively with the farm team to meet daily operational targets.
