Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and vigilant Night Security Porter to join our prestigious property management team in Canary Wharf. This pivotal role involves ensuring the safety and security of our residents and property throughout the night, alongside providing excellent porterage services. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual with a strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of service. An SIA license is highly beneficial and will be reflected in compensation, but we encourage applications from dedicated individuals ready to gain one.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, ensuring all areas are secure and free from unauthorized access.
- Monitor CCTV systems and respond promptly to any alarms or suspicious activities.
- Manage access control for residents, visitors, and contractors, verifying identities and issuing passes as required.
- Provide professional and courteous porterage services, including assisting residents with luggage, deliveries, and general enquiries.
- Respond to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical incidents, and security breaches, following established protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs and incident reports, detailing all security and service-related activities during the shift.
- Ensure common areas are kept clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
- Act as a first point of contact for residents during night hours, addressing concerns and providing assistance.
- Conduct routine checks on building systems and report any faults or maintenance issues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a security or porterage role, preferably in a residential or luxury environment.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
- Basic IT literacy for log keeping and CCTV monitoring.
- Demonstrable commitment to customer service excellence.
- Physical fitness to conduct patrols and assist with porterage duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to residential buildings.
- Previous experience with building management systems.
