Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly organized Nanny to provide exceptional care for the children of professional working parents in Seattle. This full-time position requires a dedicated individual who can seamlessly integrate into a family’s routine, offering a nurturing and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of child development, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to childcare and household support. This role is crucial in supporting the daily lives of busy parents, ensuring their children receive the best possible care and development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for children, including feeding, bathing, dressing, and overseeing nap times.
- Plan and execute engaging age-appropriate activities, including educational games, arts and crafts, and outdoor play.
- Manage children's schedules, including school pickups/drop-offs and extracurricular activities.
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for children, adhering to any dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for children, including light tidying of children's areas and toys.
- Assist with homework and foster a love for learning.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents regarding children's progress, activities, and any concerns.
- Adhere to household rules and routines established by the parents.
- Handle occasional errands related to children's needs.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional nanny or childcare experience.
- CPR and First Aid certification (current).
- Thorough understanding of child development across various age groups.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Non-smoker.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience with multiple children or specific age ranges (e.g., infants, toddlers, school-aged).
- Fluency in a second language.
- Familiarity with local children's activities and educational resources in Seattle.
- References from previous long-term nanny positions.
