Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Logistics Dockhand to join our bustling Green Bay team. This role is crucial to our operations, involving the efficient loading, unloading, sorting, and staging of freight within our terminal. As a Logistics Dockhand on the night shift, you will play a vital role in ensuring timely departures and arrivals, maintaining the flow of goods, and contributing to the overall success of our supply chain. We offer shift differentials for night work, acknowledging your commitment to our 24/7 operations. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and by hand.
- Sort and segregate freight according to destination and product type.
- Inspect freight for damage and verify counts against shipping documents.
- Accurately record and document freight information.
- Stage outgoing freight for timely loading onto outbound trailers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment on the dock.
- Operate various material handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs regularly.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety procedures.
- Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or dock environment.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
- Familiarity with freight handling and loading procedures.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
