Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Music Curriculum Developer to join our remote Education Tech team. This role is crucial in shaping the future of music education for students across various levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and refining engaging and effective music curricula, learning materials, and assessments for our digital learning platform. You will leverage your expertise in music theory, history, composition, and performance pedagogy, combined with a deep understanding of educational technology, to create high-quality, interactive content. This is a 100% remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive music curricula for online learning environments, spanning various musical genres and skill levels.
- Create engaging instructional content, including interactive lessons, exercises, projects, and assessments, utilizing a range of multimedia tools.
- Ensure curriculum aligns with educational standards and best practices in music pedagogy.
- Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and engineers to integrate content seamlessly into our digital platform.
- Review, edit, and provide constructive feedback on existing and new music learning materials.
- Conduct research on emerging trends in music education and educational technology to inform curriculum development.
- Analyze student performance data and feedback to iterate and improve curriculum effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate documentation of curriculum development processes and standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in music curriculum development, instructional design, or music education.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of music, including theory, history, composition, and performance.
- Proficiency with digital audio workstations (DAWs) and music notation software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Music Education, Music Theory, Composition, or a related field.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and ed-tech platforms.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards for digital content (e.g., WCAG).
- Experience teaching music in an online or blended learning environment.
- Portfolio showcasing curriculum development projects or educational materials.
