Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and quiet-mannered Museum Cloakroom Attendant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a calm, structured environment and enjoys contributing to a seamless visitor experience without constant interaction. You will be responsible for the organized storage and retrieval of visitors’ belongings, ensuring the security and care of all items. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a serene atmosphere within the museum.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and securely store visitors' coats, bags, and other personal items in the cloakroom.
- Issue and collect claim tickets accurately and efficiently.
- Retrieve items promptly upon presentation of the corresponding claim ticket.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized cloakroom area.
- Adhere strictly to museum security protocols and procedures.
- Handle visitor inquiries regarding cloakroom services with a polite and helpful demeanor.
- Assist with other light duties as assigned, ensuring the smooth operation of visitor services.
- Report any lost or found items, or suspicious activities, to immediate supervisor.
- Ensure a quiet and respectful atmosphere within the cloakroom and surrounding areas.
- Manage capacity limits within the cloakroom safely and efficiently.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven ability to follow instructions meticulously.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual work ethic.
- Ability to work independently in a quiet environment.
- Basic communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift light items (up to 15 lbs).
