Job Description

Join Banner Health as a Mobile Vaccination Nurse, playing a crucial role in our community outreach efforts in Phoenix. In this part-time position, you will be responsible for administering vaccinations at various community sites, schools, and events. This role requires a compassionate and adaptable professional dedicated to public health, ensuring safe and effective vaccine delivery while adhering to all medical protocols and providing excellent patient education and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer vaccines to diverse populations across various community settings, ensuring patient safety and adherence to established protocols.
  • Provide clear and concise pre- and post-vaccination education, addressing patient questions and concerns effectively.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions post-vaccination and provide appropriate medical intervention as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed vaccination records, including patient demographics, vaccine administered, and lot numbers.
  • Transport and set up vaccination equipment and supplies to various outreach locations.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control standards and maintain a sterile environment.
  • Collaborate with community partners and healthcare teams to coordinate vaccination events.
  • Assist with patient registration and flow management at vaccination sites.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members from diverse backgrounds.

Required Skills

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in vaccine administration techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various community settings.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for record-keeping.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in public health, community health, or outreach programs.
  • Previous experience with mobile clinic operations or field nursing.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish preferred).
