Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused Mobile Car Battery Tester – Diagnostic Tasker to join our roadside assistance team in Brooklyn. In this critical role, you will be responsible for traveling to member locations, performing on-site diagnostic testing of vehicle batteries and electrical systems, and providing immediate solutions such as jump-starts, battery replacements, or recommending further service. This position requires strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional member service in various weather conditions and environments across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to member locations promptly and safely using a company-provided vehicle.
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic tests on vehicle batteries, charging systems, and starting components using specialized equipment.
- Accurately interpret diagnostic results and clearly communicate findings to members.
- Provide immediate assistance including jump-starts, battery installations, and minor roadside repairs.
- Recommend appropriate solutions for complex issues, coordinating with dispatch for tow services if necessary.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete necessary paperwork.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Represent AAA with professionalism and a commitment to outstanding member service.
- Keep company vehicle and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
Required Skills
- Minimum 6 months of experience in automotive repair, diagnostics, or roadside assistance.
- Basic knowledge of automotive electrical systems and battery testing procedures.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Certification (e.g., A6 – Electrical/Electronic Systems).
- Experience with various vehicle makes and models.
- Familiarity with AAA roadside assistance procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED.
