Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organized Medical Records Pharmacy Aide with a strong focus on data entry and filing to join our dedicated pharmacy team in Santa Ana, CA. In this vital role, you will support our pharmacy operations by accurately maintaining patient records, managing confidential data, and ensuring the efficient organization of all related documentation. This position is crucial for maintaining the integrity and accessibility of our medical records, directly contributing to patient safety and operational efficiency within our healthcare system. Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient prescriptions, medication histories, and related pharmacy information into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Organize, file, and retrieve physical and electronic medical records, ensuring all documents are correctly indexed and easily accessible.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with administrative tasks, including scanning documents, managing incoming faxes, and handling internal communications related to records.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records to identify and correct discrepancies, ensuring data integrity.
- Prepare and process various reports related to medical records and pharmacy activities as needed.
- Respond to requests for medical records from authorized personnel, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
- Manage inventory of office supplies relevant to records management.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven experience with data entry, demonstrating accuracy and speed.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive patient information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office, pharmacy, or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
