Job Description
Join Linde as a Medical Oxygen Driver, an essential role in our healthcare division. You will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and retrieval of medical oxygen cylinders and related equipment to hospitals, clinics, and homecare patients throughout the Stockton region. This role is critical in supporting patient well-being and requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service. As an essential service provider, you will contribute directly to community health, ensuring a stable and reliable supply of life-saving medical gases. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle (CDL required) for the delivery and retrieval of medical oxygen cylinders.
- Transport medical gases and related equipment to customer sites, including hospitals, medical facilities, and private residences.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and document findings.
- Ensure all deliveries are made in accordance with strict safety protocols, DOT regulations, and company policies.
- Accurately complete delivery paperwork, including manifests and invoices, using handheld devices.
- Provide exceptional customer service, professionally interacting with healthcare personnel and patients.
- Load and unload cylinders and medical equipment, ensuring proper handling and securing.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform minor maintenance checks as needed.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the transport of hazardous materials.
- Respond to urgent delivery requests as required to meet critical patient needs.
Required Skills
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move heavy cylinders (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic and company regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic mathematical skills for accurate record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) endorsement.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver, especially in healthcare or medical supply.
- Familiarity with the Stockton, CA geographical area.
- Experience with handheld delivery devices or electronic logging systems.
