Job Description
Schneider is seeking dedicated and experienced Long Haul CDL-A Truckers to join our growing fleet. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle for long-haul routes.
- Transport goods efficiently and on schedule across designated routes.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and submit necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics teams.
- Ensure the security and proper handling of freight.
- Represent Schneider professionally to customers and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum 12 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with truck driving (e.g., coupling/uncoupling trailers, inspecting equipment)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with refrigerated or specialized freight
- HAZMAT endorsement
- TWIC card
- Proven record of on-time delivery and strong customer service
