Key Responsibilities
- Receive comprehensive, hands-on training and mentorship in modern perm and texture techniques, including digital perms, body waves, and chemical relaxers.
- Assist senior stylists with various hair services, focusing on preparation and support for perming and texturizing clients.
- Prepare clients for services, including thorough shampooing, conditioning, and scalp massages, ensuring their comfort.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic salon work area, sterilizing tools and equipment regularly.
- Learn and apply extensive product knowledge to effectively recommend appropriate aftercare and styling products to clients.
- Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring a positive and memorable experience for every client.
- Actively participate in ongoing training sessions, workshops, and educational programs to continuously enhance skills and stay updated on industry trends.
Required Skills
- A strong passion for hair styling, particularly for texture services and transformations.
- An eagerness and desire to learn and grow professionally within the beauty industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with clients and team members.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented salon environment.
- A foundational understanding of hair care principles and basic styling techniques (though comprehensive training will be provided).
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a cosmetology program, nearing graduation, or a recent graduate of an accredited cosmetology school.
- Prior experience in a salon setting, even in roles such as a salon assistant, receptionist, or shampoo technician, is a plus.
- Familiarity with various hair textures, types, and their unique care requirements.
