Job Description
As a Receiving Coordinator with a Warehouse Inventory focus at Target, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of incoming merchandise. This role is crucial for maintaining precise inventory levels, preventing discrepancies, and supporting overall warehouse efficiency. You will be responsible for processing deliveries, verifying counts, resolving receiving issues, and collaborating with various teams to uphold our high standards of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the accurate receipt and processing of all incoming merchandise shipments.
- Verify quantities against purchase orders, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues with carriers or vendors.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
- Utilize inventory management systems to log received goods, update stock levels, and generate reports.
- Coordinate with warehouse inventory and replenishment teams to ensure timely movement of goods to storage or sales floor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the training of new team members on receiving procedures and safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and record-keeping.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and system navigation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory control role.
- Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse machinery.
- Familiarity with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
