Job Description
Are you a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse passionate about critical care? Cone Health is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team on the night shift. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in our Intensive Care Unit, utilizing advanced clinical skills and critical thinking to manage complex conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for critically ill patients.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, monitoring patients for adverse reactions and effectiveness.
- Operate and interpret advanced medical equipment, such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, and IV pumps.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plans, and recovery process.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards.
Required Skills
- Current RN licensure in the State of North Carolina.
- BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS may be required for specific units).
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
- Proficiency in administering complex medications and operating advanced medical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems specific to Cone Health (e.g., Epic).
- Previous experience working night shifts.
