Job Description

We’re seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as Shelf & Hook Fitters, providing essential handyman support for local gigs within our Oakland, CA operations. This role is perfect for someone detail-oriented, with a practical mindset, who enjoys hands-on work and supporting various in-store maintenance and merchandising projects. You’ll be crucial in ensuring our store environments are functional, safe, and visually appealing for our customers and associates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, adjust, and repair shelving units, hooks, and other merchandising fixtures as per store layout plans and supervisor instructions.
  • Assist with general handyman tasks, including minor repairs, assembly of equipment, and facility maintenance support.
  • Ensure all fixtures are securely installed and comply with safety standards and merchandising guidelines.
  • Collaborate with store management and merchandising teams to facilitate efficient project completion.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing tools and materials.
  • Report any structural damage, safety hazards, or needed repairs to appropriate personnel.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams or assembly instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise measurements.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Reliable transportation for local assignments within Oakland.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Basic communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail merchandising, fixture installation, or general handyman work.
  • Familiarity with store environments and safety protocols.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
