Job Description
Are you a rapid typist with an exceptional ear for detail? Rev.com is seeking highly skilled and motivated Transcriptionists to join our remote team. This is a high-paying opportunity for individuals who can accurately convert audio and video content into text, ensuring grammatical correctness, proper punctuation, and precise speaker identification. You will work on diverse projects ranging from interviews and lectures to podcasts and film footage. This role demands speed, accuracy, and a commitment to quality, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio and video recordings into written text with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
- Identify and label different speakers within a recording.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure grammatical correctness, proper punctuation, and overall coherence.
- Adhere to specific client guidelines and formatting requirements for each project.
- Manage workload effectively to meet established deadlines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client materials.
Required Skills
- Exceptional typing speed (80+ WPM with high accuracy).
- Superior listening skills and ability to discern challenging audio.
- Native-level proficiency in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Acute attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
- Proficiency with transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, Audacity) or willingness to learn quickly.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in professional transcription (legal, medical, academic).
- Familiarity with style guides (e.g., Chicago Manual of Style).
- Experience with timestamping and difficult audio handling.
- A keen interest in diverse subjects and industries.
