Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and thorough Hospital Housekeeper to join our Environmental Services team in Wesley Chapel, Florida. This crucial full-time position ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. As an integral part of our healthcare facility, you will play a vital role in infection control and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and comfort. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, and treatment rooms following established procedures and infection control guidelines.
- Empty waste bins and properly dispose of medical and general waste, adhering to all biohazard protocols.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and other consumables.
- Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment safely and effectively, including vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet extractors.
- Follow all safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed.
- Assist in setting up and turning over patient rooms efficiently to ensure timely patient flow.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, patients, and visitors while maintaining a respectful demeanor.
- Adhere to AdventHealth's values and standards of service excellence.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and established cleaning protocols rigorously.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in all cleaning and sanitation tasks.
- Physical stamina to perform duties that require standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and pushing/pulling equipment for extended periods.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and sterile environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping or environmental services, particularly within a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Basic knowledge of infection control practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with hazardous material handling and safety data sheets (SDS).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
