Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care to clients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
  • Assist clients with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
  • Help with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  • Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and client preferences.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes in client condition to the supervising nurse.
  • Assist with medication reminders as directed.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities.
  • Document services provided accurately and timely.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Required Skills

  • Completion of an accredited Home Health Aide (HHA) training program.
  • Current HHA certification in California.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Strong observational and reporting skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable demeanor.
  • Ability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six months to one year of experience as a Home Health Aide in a home care setting.
  • Experience working with diverse client populations.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
