Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic (Diesel) to join our dynamic team in Kennewick, WA. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and powertrains of various Caterpillar equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and service to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
  • Utilize specialized diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Complete detailed service reports, work orders, and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with service managers and parts department to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics when required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, preferably with heavy construction equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools specific to heavy equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
  • Previous experience with Caterpillar equipment and proprietary diagnostic systems (e.g., CAT ET, SIS).
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain one.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Experience with machine control and GPS systems.
