Job Description

Join BrightView Landscape Services as a Gravel & Dirt Shoveler and play a crucial role in our landscaping projects. This immediate start position is perfect for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, are physically active, and are looking for a foundational role in the landscaping industry. You will be responsible for manually moving and distributing various materials, preparing sites, and supporting our skilled crews in a variety of tasks to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload gravel, dirt, mulch, and other landscaping materials using shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows.
  • Dig trenches, holes, and other excavations as directed by supervisors.
  • Prepare sites for planting, irrigation, and hardscaping by clearing debris and leveling surfaces.
  • Assist in the installation of landscape features, including plants, pavers, and irrigation systems.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision.
  • Follow instructions from crew leaders and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Perform other general labor duties as assigned to support the landscaping team.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods, including lifting, bending, and shoveling.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols in a construction or landscaping environment.
  • Ability to withstand various weather conditions while working outdoors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or general labor.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
