Job Description

Join Allied Universal as a Gated Community Security Guard in Hilo, Hawaii, for a relaxed, sit-down role in a friendly residential environment. This role primarily involves monitoring entrances, verifying visitor credentials, and conducting regular, light patrols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control access at the community's entry gate, verifying identities of residents and guests.
  • Maintain accurate logs of all visitors, vehicles, and deliveries.
  • Operate and monitor security equipment such as CCTV systems and access control panels.
  • Provide a visible and reassuring security presence within the community.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to non-emergency situations and direct emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct routine, light patrols of the community premises, primarily via golf cart or on foot.
  • Enforce community rules and regulations with diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Prepare clear and concise incident reports as required.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Hawaii Guard Card or ability to obtain one.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer proficiency for logging and report writing.
  • Customer service-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in security, customer service, or a related field.
