Job Description
Join Google’s innovative team as an AI Training Translator, working remotely from Halifax, Nova Scotia. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our AI models’ understanding and generation of various languages, ensuring accuracy, cultural relevance, and linguistic nuances. Key Responsibilities
- Translate and annotate text and audio data across various domains to improve AI model performance.
- Review and validate existing linguistic data for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to guidelines.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback on AI-generated text and translations.
- Participate in calibration sessions to ensure consistent understanding and application of guidelines.
- Identify and document linguistic challenges and patterns to inform AI development teams.
- Maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in all assigned tasks.
- Adapt to evolving project requirements and guidelines in a fast-paced environment.
Required Skills
- Native or near-native fluency in at least two languages (one must be English), with excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation in both.
- Strong understanding of linguistic nuances, cultural contexts, and idiomatic expressions.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex guidelines meticulously.
- Proficiency in using web-based tools and comfortable with technology.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in translation, localization, linguistic annotation, or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related language-focused discipline.
- Familiarity with AI/Machine Learning concepts and natural language processing (NLP).
- Experience with various translation memory (TM) tools or CAT tools.
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and software.
