Job Description
Nielsen is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented Field Market Researchers to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for collecting critical data directly from consumers in designated geographic areas across major U.S. cities. You will engage with diverse individuals, conduct surveys, and gather information that directly contributes to our renowned market insights and consumer behavior reports. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity. While your primary base will be in Burbank, California, this role involves significant travel and field work within various U.S. markets to collect data on location. We are looking for individuals ready to start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-person surveys and interviews with consumers in various field settings (e.g., retail locations, public spaces, door-to-door).
- Accurately record and document all collected data using company-provided tools and technology.
- Adhere to strict data collection protocols and quality standards to ensure data integrity.
- Travel extensively to different neighborhoods and cities as required to meet research objectives.
- Build rapport and engage effectively with diverse populations to encourage participation in surveys.
- Manage and organize personal field schedule efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality of all collected data and proprietary information.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and team members regarding progress and challenges.
- Represent Nielsen professionally and ethically at all times.
Required Skills

- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field environment
- Proficiency with tablet devices or smartphones for data entry
- Comfortable engaging with strangers and adapting to various social situations

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in market research, sales, or customer service roles
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish)
- Experience with mobile data collection applications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sociology, Communications, or a related field
