Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Festival Stewards for various summer events and festivals located around Hertfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for seasonal work in a vibrant, outdoor environment. As a Festival Steward, you will be the welcoming face of our events, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all attendees. This role involves working outdoors, often for long hours, and requires a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear directions and information to festival-goers regarding stages, facilities, and entry/exit points.
- Monitor designated areas for potential hazards and report any incidents or concerns to senior staff immediately.
- Assist with crowd management and maintain orderly queues at entrances, stages, and other high-traffic areas.
- Check tickets and wristbands efficiently and politely at access points.
- Respond to queries and provide excellent customer service to enhance the festival experience.
- Support emergency services and follow evacuation procedures if necessary.
- Maintain a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanour at all times.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Physical fitness to stand and walk for extended periods, often outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- A positive 'can-do' attitude and a genuine desire to help people.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in event stewarding, customer service, or a similar public-facing role.
- First Aid certification or a willingness to undertake training.
- Knowledge of local event venues or festival sites in Hertfordshire.
- An interest in live music and events.
