Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Fertility Nurse (RN) to join our professional team in Round Rock. This role is central to providing exceptional care to our patients undergoing fertility treatments, with a specific focus on In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a profound sense of empathy to support patients through what can be an emotionally challenging process. You will be responsible for patient education, medication management, procedure assistance, and coordination of care within our dynamic IVF clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to fertility patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Educate patients on fertility treatments, medication protocols, self-injection techniques, and pre/post-procedure care.
- Assist physicians with fertility procedures such as egg retrievals, embryo transfers, and hysteroscopies.
- Perform phlebotomy, administer medications, and monitor patient responses to treatment.
- Coordinate patient appointments, diagnostic testing, and treatment cycles.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients throughout their fertility journey.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, embryologists, and other team members to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in patient care conferences and contribute to the development of treatment plans.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting, women's health, or similar specialty.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Strong IV insertion and phlebotomy skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience in a fertility clinic or reproductive endocrinology setting.
- Experience with IVF specific protocols and patient management.
- Certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Nursing (REIN) or equivalent.
