Job Description
We are seeking a visionary Fashion Designer / Creative Director to join our global design team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the creative direction of key collections, from concept to production, ensuring they align with Nike’s brand ethos and market demands. You will also play a crucial role in identifying, nurturing, and collaborating with global design talent and influencers, fostering partnerships that amplify Nike’s presence and innovation in the fashion industry. This position requires exceptional leadership, a deep understanding of global fashion trends, and a proven ability to deliver groundbreaking designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization and execution of innovative fashion designs, from initial sketches to final production.
- Develop and articulate a compelling creative vision for assigned collections, ensuring alignment with Nike's brand identity and market strategy.
- Oversee the design process, providing clear direction and mentorship to a team of designers.
- Identify, scout, and develop relationships with emerging global talent and influencers for potential collaborations and sponsorships.
- Present design concepts, mood boards, and prototypes to senior leadership and external partners.
- Collaborate closely with product development, marketing, sales, and sourcing teams to ensure design feasibility, market relevance, and timely delivery.
- Stay at the forefront of global fashion trends, material innovations, and consumer insights, integrating findings into design strategies.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Ensure all designs meet Nike's high standards for quality, performance, and sustainability.
Required Skills
- Proven track record (minimum 6 years) in fashion design and creative direction within a reputable brand or agency.
- An exceptional portfolio demonstrating innovative design solutions, strong aesthetic sensibility, and technical proficiency.
- Expertise in industry-standard design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and 3D design tools (e.g., CLO 3D, Optitex).
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a creative team.
- Deep understanding of global fashion markets, consumer behavior, and cultural nuances.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, multiple deadlines, and cross-functional collaborations.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and manufacturing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or a related creative field.
- Experience working with sustainable design practices and materials.
- An established network within the global fashion industry, including designers, artists, and influencers.
- Previous experience in talent scouting, artist relations, or managing sponsorship programs.
- Experience designing for performance sportswear and lifestyle apparel.
