Job Description

Join Altima Dental as a Dental Assistant Trainee and embark on a rewarding career path! We are specifically looking for candidates who are committed to achieving their National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) certification. We offer comprehensive on-the-job training, mentorship from experienced dental professionals, and significant support towards your NDAEB certification, including resources and guidance. This role involves assisting our dental team with patient care, preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and performing administrative duties, all while gaining invaluable practical experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists and hygienists during various dental procedures
  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to infection control guidelines
  • Set up and break down treatment rooms efficiently
  • Provide chairside assistance, anticipating the needs of the dentist
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories
  • Manage inventory of dental supplies and place orders as needed
  • Perform basic laboratory duties, such as pouring models
  • Help manage patient appointments and reception duties as required
  • Actively participate in training programs and work towards NDAEB certification

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
