Job Description
As a Delivery Offsider at Leon’s Furniture, you will be an integral part of our delivery team, responsible for safely and efficiently delivering furniture and appliances to customer homes. This physically demanding role requires a strong work ethic, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to perform heavy lifting on a regular basis. You will work alongside a driver, ensuring items are handled with care, assembled if required, and placed in the customer’s desired location. This is a full-time position offering weekly pay and the opportunity to be part of a well-established Canadian company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the delivery driver with loading and unloading furniture and appliances at the warehouse and customer locations.
- Perform heavy lifting of various furniture pieces and appliances, ensuring safe handling techniques.
- Navigate various residential and commercial environments to deliver items.
- Assemble furniture items as required at customer homes, following instructions carefully.
- Inspect items for damage before and after delivery, reporting any issues.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery truck and equipment.
Required Skills
- Ability to consistently lift and move heavy furniture and appliances (up to 75 lbs individually, heavier with assistance).
- Strong physical stamina and endurance.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery, warehousing, or physically demanding role.
- Experience with furniture assembly.
- Valid G driver's license (even if not driving, beneficial for understanding logistics).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
