Job Description

Industrial Light & Magic is offering a unique internship opportunity for a Compositing & Nuke VFX Intern. This role is designed for aspiring artists looking to gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and techniques. You will work alongside seasoned professionals, contributing to real-world projects and learning the intricacies of high-end visual effects compositing. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior compositors with various tasks, including rotoscoping, keying, paint-outs, and element integration.
- Learn and apply compositing principles under the guidance of experienced artists.
- Organize and manage assets, ensuring proper file naming conventions and project structure.
- Participate in daily reviews and contribute to creative discussions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to compositing workflows.
- Adhere to project deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- Fundamental understanding of compositing principles and workflows.
- Basic proficiency in Nuke.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot visual inconsistencies.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to take direction and adapt to feedback.
- A passion for film, animation, and visual effects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/certificate in VFX, Animation, Film, or a related field.
- A portfolio demonstrating personal projects or academic work in compositing.
- Familiarity with other VFX software (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Photoshop).
- Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python) is a plus.
