Job Description
We are seeking reliable and skilled individuals for flexible contract opportunities as a Coat Hook & Shelf Fitter. This role is perfect for handymen or tradespeople looking for quick, short-term gigs to supplement their income or build a client base. You will be responsible for travelling to customer homes within Exeter and the surrounding Devon area to install coat hooks, shelves, small wall-mounted items, and perform other minor carpentry or fitting tasks. Successful candidates will possess excellent practical skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work independently to high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to various customer locations to complete assigned fitting tasks.
- Accurately and securely install coat hooks, shelves, picture frames, and other wall-mounted items.
- Perform minor carpentry and repair work as needed for installations.
- Ensure all installations are level, secure, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide excellent service.
- Manage time efficiently to complete gigs within agreed timescales.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area, protecting customer property.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven practical skills in carpentry, general DIY, or handyman work.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a handyman, carpenter, or installer.
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (e.g., City & Guilds in Carpentry).
