Job Description
We are seeking skilled and reliable Handyman Professionals to join our growing team, specifically focusing on the high demand for IKEA wall unit mounting tasks. This role involves precise installation of various IKEA wall-mounted furniture items, including cabinets, shelves, and storage systems, in residential and commercial properties across Reigate and the wider Surrey area. Candidates must possess excellent practical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for ensuring secure, level, and aesthetically pleasing installations, adhering to safety standards and client specifications. This is an on-site, full-time position critical to delivering our promise of quality and efficiency to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and securely mount IKEA wall units and furniture systems according to manufacturer instructions and client specifications.
- Perform pre-installation checks, including wall type assessment, stud finding, and planning optimal placement.
- Utilize appropriate tools and techniques to ensure level, plumb, and safe installations.
- Protect client property during the installation process and ensure a clean work area upon completion.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear explanations and addressing any concerns.
- Manage time efficiently to complete tasks within estimated timeframes.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide expert advice on wall unit placement and integrity when requested by clients.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in furniture assembly and wall mounting, especially IKEA products.
- Proficiency with power tools (drills, stud finders, levels, etc.) and hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to different wall types and structures.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and diagrams.
- Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in carpentry, joinery, or a related trade.
- Previous experience working independently or as part of a mobile service team.
- Knowledge of various wall anchoring techniques for different materials (plasterboard, brick, concrete).
- Customer service experience in a client-facing role.
- First Aid certification.
