Job Description
Are you a CDL-A holder whose license has lapsed, or perhaps you’ve been out of the trucking industry for a while and need to refresh your skills? XPO Logistics is offering a paid CDL-A Refresher Course and Back to Work Program designed to get you back on the road safely and confidently. This comprehensive program provides classroom and behind-the-wheel training to ensure you meet current industry standards and regulations. Upon successful completion, you will transition directly into a full-time driving position with XPO Logistics, enjoying competitive pay and excellent benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully complete all aspects of the CDL-A Refresher Course, including classroom and behind-the-wheel training.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently once transitioned to a driving role.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Transport goods to various locations, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
- Maintain accurate logs and records as required by DOT and company policy.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
Required Skills
- Possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) or eligibility to renew.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screen.
- Clean driving record.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles and follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Class A CDL driver.
- HazMat or Tanker endorsements.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
